Air conidtioner tripping 20 amp breaker

I have a Coleman Mach unit on top of motorhome, and it's only a couple years old, but I think warranty is expired.

When it's starts getting into afternoon heat, compressor seems to be tripping breaker. I changed breaker, but it hasn't gotten better.

I tested with volt meter. Before compressor is on, voltage reads about 120. After compressor is on, it drops down to about 110, sometimes 109.

Is this an indication that compressor is going out?

Thanks for any help/suggestions.

  • check your plug the leg on it is getting loose so on the afternoon the ac is working harder than needed pops the breaker
  • Does the breaker trip at compressor start up or while running for a while?
Yes a higher than normal amp draw is an indication the unit needs to be replaced.
    How old is it?
