AirConditioner Discharge Openings

Are the discharge opening, where the uunit mate with the duct the same size for 13.5 and 15K units. Wondering if new RVs are ducted with larger duct so that either size capacity can be instaled. Have a 15K AC and looking to add a second.

The A/C consists of 3 or 4 (or 5 in a few cases) parts
The upper unit. this is the "Guts" of the operation this is what is 13.4 15 or other thousand BTUs.
The part that goes through the roof, This is the duct adapter and the same is used for both sizes. This part may include electronics and or controls
    The grill (indoor cover

Optional 4th part: Thermostat on wall
Optional 5th part: Adapt-a-kit because Carrier was the OEM.
  • All roof top RV AC holes are 14.5 inches square. Been that way for more than 50 years. Doug
  • Before you add a second AC, check out RV Airflow System. It will boost the ac duct output by 40-50%. I just installed one, but it hasn't been hot enough to really see how much faster rv cools down. I did turn fan on and the air coming out of ducts is much much better.
