Would like any info you may have on portable airconditioners. Airconditioners were damaged in accident and need AC now. How well do they work? Any info will be appreciated.Thank you, Bob
From everything I have read, 2 hose systems are by far the preferred type, they are more expensive but you are not pushing conditioned air out of the house. Type comparasion
We used them where I used to work, and they did an okay job with a fairly small room, but I don't think one is going to keep your large trailer cool, maybe a couple would.
They work as good as those little personal cube heaters. They'll cool YOU, and nothing else. My neighbor bought one to use in her living room while I remodeled her home one summer. She ended up staying in my trailer in mi my driveway.
They work fine but the 2 hose ones are much better.
The single hose units pull air from inside the space to pick up the heat and exhaust it. As a result, you are constantly pumping some of your cooled air out of the interior. They still work, just not as good.
The dual hose units, pull outside air for this purpose, so they keep more of the cooled air in the interior.
We had some big two hose units where I retired that would surely do the job... They had 12" hoses! You'd have to run the hoses out a window and seal around them. I sold Kold Wave water cooled spot coolers in the 70s that worked great but water and sewer departments would have a sh"t fit if you used anything with one pass water, these days. Craig
