I bought the cheapo ones and I placed them in fixtures that would light the living areas but these fixtures are rarely used. Yes the tape did not hold and the LED's are resting on the lens of the fixture. You do not notice this unless you are really looking at it so I don't care.
Also since they are in fixtures I only use while off the grid I do not care if it is as bright or the perfect color. My bulbs were about a buck each and I was able to LED my trailer and plenty to spare for my brothers trailer for about 25 bucks.
