Probably won't hurt and may help- go down to your nearest parts house(Walmart too) and get some K&W transmission sealer (Trans X at Walmart) and put it in your trans. If the leak is a couple of spots on the driveway- this may cure it by swelling up the seals.
I just used Trans X to seal up the rear main seal in my wife's 2004 S10 Blazer.
Yes- it does work. Try it and it may do the job.
The seals dry up from age and heat and need to be softened and swelled up again.
