If those batteries are sulfated you could be playing with something that has the capacity of a used Volkswagen group 42 battery. A sulfated pair of GC220's can start out at 12.7 volts normalized voltage and drop to 12.3 with 50 amps applied.
Without knowing if one or both batteries have one or more sulfated cells you might as well tie on a blindfold and plug both ears with cotton - you're going to be guessing all the way to the next bank deposit.
How many times have I emphasized this? A hundred? Maybe more.
Start with the BASICS. Assume nothing.
Charge those batteries as best you can to where you think they are stuffed.
Then hydrometer check all six cells.
One, single, stupid, low specific gravity cell can mimic your problem. In spades.
And it could be corrected by doing a proper equalization.
But without having a hydrometer and using it, you are flying blind. Hydrometer or credit card. Your choice.
