I too will go with you are not doing any serious damage. BUT DO inspect and check the fluid level and add DISTILLED water if necessary..
Some disagreement on the proper fill level..
Minimum is top of plates
Maximum is 1/8 to 1/4 inch BELOW the bottom of the filler tube (Sometimes called a split ring since there are a couple of slots in the side of the tube)
Some folks say to the bottom of the tube but DEKA, and I both say BELOW it, leave a bit of an air gap... Reduces spitting of acid out the vents.
Use of "Hydro Caps" (Special caps that re-combine the Hydrogen and Oxygen released by the battery and drip it back into the cell) will extend the time between water adds.. Big time.
