I have the camper package in my silverado. I have finally figured out how it works and found online schematics..
Its a GM solenoid and after locating the cross reference from GM to white rodgers I found it to be a 100 amper.. ( GM dont tell you) I had to find out who made the darn thing..
Also ironically there is an ANL fuse in the line to the 7 pin..This is a 40 ampere. I couldn't find one and have an 80 ampere in there now as I blew it messing around. ( Just got 40 ampere to replace yesterday)
I too probably have 10 gauge frome seonoid to the B terminal in the underhood fuse block stud that goes to 7 pin.. Then the wire to the 7 pin looks to be about 8 gauge.
I do get 15 amps from truck to trailer with depleted batteries.
I plan on increasing that thin wire from anl mega fuse to fuse box stud..probably to #6 as thats what I got... Maybe I can get more amps to the 7 pin.. Like I said 15 amps now with depleted batts.. 25 amps would be nice.
Now this battery does not charge through that wire. Alt goes to center of a positive block, block goes starter and start battery. Aux battery goes to starter but for charging only..
Hmm it probably dont make sense right?
But this is how they did them back when I believe.
Im forced to use same GM solenoid as it has a trigger molex plug, that who knows where it goes...
So story is I was in your same predicament with figuring out.. I think I may have a bad main wire to that aux battery as I dont think I have the charging amps to that battery from the truck when I use that batterys as a third to the camper by leaving the truck plugged into the trailer..
Last is as I spoke about before the GM's are ecm controlled. I get 14.5 volts or more out the rear 7 pin of the truck.( measuring with a volt meter, and have seen the truck as high as 15.3 v..
