My Tom-Tom once directed us down a back country road that was completely flooded. I saw the flood road and debated if I could go ahead or not. I was about to go forward and chance it, when my wife yelled, "STOP!" "Look at the fence posts!" I said, "What fence posts?" She said, "Look closer!" And sure enough, in the midst of the path where the road apparently went, I could see about half a foot of the top of fence posts above the water!
I backed up (travel trailer) about 1/4 mile (really), and was able to turn the trailer in the mud drive way of a cell tower station in the middle of a saturated wet and very muddy field.
We laughed when it was all over... Yes... it made a good memory for us and learned to never completely depend upon electronics when traveling for directions.
