Yes - GPS did exactly what it should have. That's what I like about Google Maps. It has real time (or near real time) updates. Now in a remote area there are no guarantees, but since they now own Waze users report unexpected issues like construction, bridges out, etc.
I had a situation where GPS took me on a route that would have been pretty sketchy for a car, never mind my motorhome. I had accidentally exited Rt. 380 in PA and asked the nav to get me back to the highway. It was hot out and the temp gauge was already pegged in the red (I've since replaced the radiator). It took me through some sort of park with ridiculously steep hills and onto "roads" that at one point said "NO VEHICLES." It was bumpy and partially paved. Keeping the faith in the GPS, I kept on. At one point I had the gas pedal to the floor and was going 15 MPH up a very steep hill. Once we crested the hill it was a steeeep ride down. I kept it in low, kept the RPMs up and the temp gauge finally started to back down to reasonable territory. And that crazy route did ultimately lead to Rt. 380 again.
In my neck of the woods GPS will also take you to a bridge across the Delaware River that has weight, width and height restrictions that prohibit RVs. And hefty fines for attempting it.
I always check my route before heading out.
