MEXICOWANDERER

Not GPS related, but, nevertheless a hoot...
Scouting in 1990 for a trip down the west coast of Mexico in my decreased father's Cadillac. A buddy and I took turns. It was after dark approaching San Blas our destination...
I was wrapped up in a blanket. Felt the car ease to a stop. Then take off. Drowsy I was falling asleep when (another stop?)
At the third stop I could take it no longer, I unwrapped the blanket.
"What's with the stops?"
"You tell me"
Another ALTO sign appeared, to the left and right of the highway were flooded ditches.
And another. I told Vince to blow through it - he hesitated then glided on through.
Finally, ahead of the next ALTO was vegetation. We arrived at a true T intersection and made a right turn.
Two miles later we crossed a bridge and entered San Blas.
Mexico, now has navigation maps on TelCel. They update them once a week. For a reason.
And add my feliciadades for turning a hassle into an adventure.
I came upon an stake truck laying on it's side yesterday. The driver had scrawled on a flapping piece of cardboard.
FREE WATERMELON
The truck had obviously been badly overloaded...
