IN your case the GPS give good, but outdated information... Alas, a different updatable app (Google maps) have have done better.
I've seen other cases. well spaceweatherwoman.com is a web site that last time I visited (a while ago, week or 2) had a not so happy story.
TUrns out the GPS gave bad info.. We have had a period of wild solar activity and this can affect GPS.. I've not seen it on the rare occasions when I travel by GPS but.. Well.. I do not "Just trust" Lola like Robin Williams did.
I use a combination of GPS.. Maps (paper and otherwise) and my BRAIN.
Far too many do not.
IN your case however.. Well even a map would have shown you on the right road less it was a brand new one so I can't blame you.
One wish.. I wish all Dead ENd Roads had Semi truck size turn arounds so you can get outta there in DRIVE instead of REVERSE.
