That would have given me nightmares for years to come. One GPS owner (obviously a newbie) gave me directions near the San Francisco Bay Bridge.
"Yeah, keep in the right lane and turn at the stop sign"
Well, guess the heck what...it was the dedicated bus "no toll" lane. No way to exit or turn around...it took me past the toll plaza...I had visions of parked Highway Patrolmen flipping coins to see who would get me. I made it to Yerba Buena Island in the middle of the span, turned around and I stayed jittery for many miles after that -- a $412 minimum fine for unauthorized use of the bus lane. And that was 12-15 years ago. I about wore the enamel off my molars.
I had watched as the guy entered info into his "Tom Tom". Sort of took the bloom off the GPS Rose for me.
