Pianotuna, you might want to prod the manufacturer and ask them bluntly: "You claim a cycle life based on depth of discharge. ASSUMING THE BATTERY HAS BEEN IDEALLY MAINTAINED AND CARED FOR What I am interested in knowing is the Usable Ampere Hour Capacity at end of cycle life. What are you basing your target on? Are you claiming 60% of ampere hour capacity remains? 50%? Less?"
This succinct question acts to yank a battery manufacturer's shorts down around their ankles for all to see. The capitalized part above pretty much negates any validity of a generalized statement "IT DEPENDS"
If you get a "It Depends" answer with no value hints, then I would be skeptical about many of the claims. I like the weight of this battery. Reviewers however have not afforded clear thoughts never mind evidence of superior performance or lifespan. The battery is too recent. And lastly, what really raised the hair up on the back of my neck is the fact the manufacturer if this is actually a manufacturer does not state WHERE this battery is being made. Where is the address? Corporate headquarters? This is most curious...

Life of Batteries in use is measured by "Number of Cycles" rather than time. VMAX is known to deliver one of the highest numbers of discharge / recharge cycles. Depending on the use and average depth of discharge it can offer an average of:
Depth of Discharge Number Of Cycles
10% 3500+
25% 1500
50% 900
75% 600
100% 300
