A 12volt refer requires 12volts to stay running. Perhaps you meant a propane or absorption refer since a 12volt refer by definition requires 12volts.
Also, you say that one cannot find a refer over 5 cf that doesn't require 12volts, but you might be able to find one under 6 cf that doesn't need 12volts. A 5.5 cf refer is above 5 cf but under 6 cf, so it is in limbo with your breakdown.

The 5 versus 6 was because of the 5.5.

Again, by definition a 12 VOLT Refer (whether including a RV designation or not) will require 12 volts to operate - that's a given, it's even in the title of the appliance to make it obvious - you need 12 volts to operate a 12 volt (RV) refer. The question is whether propane refers require 12volts.
And where exactly does the 5.5 CF fit in your breakdown? If nothing over 5 CF will operate without 12 volts then a 5.5 CF refer must use 12 volts per your statement. So why include it in the "under 6 CF might run without 12 volts"?
If you are stating that a 5.5 CF refer might not require 12 volts, then your first statement should say "you cannot find a refer 6 CF or larger that will operate without 12 volts". Then the 5.5 CF refer will fall into the second statement of "you might find a refer under 6 CF that runs without 12 volts".
It's a logic statement and the way you wrote it ignores anything between 5 and 6 CF. With a simple word change, you have included that range.
