Any charcoal filter can make the water taste great. There's a lot of bad stuff that can get through a Brita. If you can find the specs on their cartridges compare them with one that can remove cryptosporidium from your water. The best cartridges available filter down to 0.5 micron. If all you're after is good tasting water, Brita will do fine but the water coming from it may not be safe to drink unless it's from a safe source.
