Anyone have a trick for city water intake valve?

Our city water intake valve is broken. Seems to me that a few years of the fresh water house hanging off of it finally did it in. The hubby hates "modifying" or drilling any part of the trailer....but...

We leave the 90ยบ elbow on the RV all the time with the thought that it saves the plastic connector from the constant use. Its easier and less wear and tear to hook the hose to the elbow. Even easier if you use a quick disconnect (the good all brass type)
