Anyone have a trick for city water intake valve?

Our city water intake valve is broken. Seems to me that a few years of the fresh water house hanging off of it finally did it in. The hubby hates "modifying" or drilling any part of the trailer....but has anyone found a way to take some of the weight off the valve when attached to the house?

Our trailer is a 2009 Skyline Trailrider Toy Hauler

Thanks!!!!!!!
  • Yes.. Those work to take the weight off, though I'm not sure exactly why. When I hook a hose to my tank rinser, the connection leaks behind the spinny tightening thing (technical term), unless I hold the hose up to take the weight off. My RV shop suggested I use the above brass 90* thing, and the issue went away completely.
  • Use one of these:

Available at Home Depot, Lowes, WalMart, Camping World and any RV store...Dennis
  • many use a 90 d brass water fixture to take the weight off the valve.
