It's a full on equalize, has to be manually triggered after a regular charge to "full" and it does take hours to perform. Not sure exactly how long though.
About the shallow cycling, my batts take a week to self-discharge to 1%. The first 24 hrs is just surface charge dissipation. The group 24 I have in my garage takes a hell of a lot longer to self discharge so I don't see how this applies to RVers at all. If your 12V's are dropping that much overnight without a load, they're shot.
