Guaranteed, the average stored RV with solar will have discharge cycles of 5% or less. I've been doing this type of storage for 7 years. If you got 0.5A quiescent current and a 12 hour discharge cycle, then DOD is 2.7% for a pair of 6V's. In winter, DOD is even greater.
BTW, the article states discharging to less than 5%, not 5%.
