Hi BFL13,
It is entirely possible to equalize without splitting battery banks if there is enough solar. And 60 watts per 100 amp-hours is most probably enough if a top of the line charge controller is used. Heck, it doesn't even have to be MPPT.
My Blue Sky equalizes at 15.4 volts.
