Being fully charged at the end of two weeks leads me to believe I could extend that indefinitely. Hope to verify that next year when in full retirement.
Still don't quite understand your argument. If I can camp 100% with no generator or HU, if I can run anything I wish to (AC not included), if my batteries are just as fully charged at the end of a two-week trip as they were before I left, and if I can equalize on solar (split bank not withstanding) when I need to (few and far between), then solar is my 100% power source. No camping extender here. So far solar has exceeded everything I hoped for.
Split banks solves all the problems you mentioned about equalization except if your controller can't do 15+ volts, maybe it's time for an upgrade.
