I believe he does the finish charge like I do. At least a few days after my converter goes into float (typically I wait till the next weekend), I hook up either the manual charger (quicker) or if I don't have time to babysit I use the B&D1093. With the manual, I just let it run till SG stops rising (2-3 hrs) then wait a few hours or the next day when I have time and check the final SG. It's always up at baseline (1.285). With the B&D, I run a charge session then when it's "full", I run an equalize session (it won't let you do the EQ without a charge). When it's done, I check SG. If it's not up to baseline I do another. I have found it takes two EQ's with the B&D so now I just do another. The B&D takes a lot longer but I don't have to babysit it as much. I keep a spreadsheet of the volts, air temp, batteries temp and SG readings.
