JB Weld for a permanent fix.

Try the Loctite.
If it doesn't work try something else.

Is there space to put a locknut in place somewhere? Maybe you could put a thin nut between the bracket and the burner head, and cinch it down on the bracket to keep the screw from loosening. (If you can get at the other end of the screw, you could of course also put a lock nut on the end inside the burner head.

I would use high temperature permalock.

Thanks for the replies. To clarify, this is a small machine screw that fastens the bracket to the burner head; it screws into a threaded hole in the bottom of the burner head. There is a sheet metal screw that fastens the bracket to the sheet metal pan of the stove, but that one is not the issue.

Would Loctite red stand up to the temperature of the burner head?

Loctite will work on a sheet metal screw although a sh** clip as a lot of people refer to them would work too. The little threaded clip that goes over the lip could work. Or tap the hole and use a machine screw with loctite.

I doubt locktite woudl work due to the nature of that screw.. As I recall it is a sheet metal screw not a machine screw.. if it is a sheet metal screw a special cli9p is made that is also a "nut" that can clip over the metal part the screw screws into... Of course all this assumes I'm thinking of the proper screw.

Just use the next size up screw.
