I have a small rental fleet and have installed 6 of them (5 13.5 and a 15K). Delayed start, digital control, furnace conection and remote control.
The are great. The controls are years ahead of the controls you get from Dometic or Coleman. The will run on a 2000W and 2 on an Onan 4000. I wish I could change them all.
During a web search I found your previous post about this, you are the only one that I can find that gives it a thumbs up on a 2000 watt genset that is likely doing it in hot humid weather!
Thanks for responding. Jim
One big thing to keep in mind, when I run them on a 2000W generator, the AC is the ONLY thing plugged into it. No converter, charger, nothing. We use the 2000W on the units we have the 13.5K as backup, so it is wired independently from the coach.
I have one coach that the main AC is also a 13.5 Atwood, that one I have used a 2200W ryobi and it run with no problems without anything else, but the converter and charger were on.
A 4000W genset (Onan or Generac) have been able to run 2 ACs, as long as one of them is an Atwood 13.5K. 3 motorhomes have 1 15K (other brand) and an 13.5K Atwood. They all run fine with the generators (I would not recomended for long, but in a pinch...).
The unit with 2 13.5 Atwoods runs really good on a 4000W onan, with some power left.
