I keep coming across this Atwood Air command 13.5 BTU which claims to be 2000 watt generator friendly, even shows a picture of it with a Honda EU2000i.I read what I can find and the only LRA that is shown anywhere is 63 Amps. 63 A is way beyond a 2000i capabilitys.I have read a bit where people talked about running one with the little Honda 2K but they do not go into detail such as temperature, humidity or elevation. I can run my 11K roof air on my Honda 2K when it is cool out, but will not run it in hot humid weather, even with a hard start capacitor. Does anyone have any real world experience with these units or somewhere that someone with some knowledge has tested them? Any input greatly appreciated. Jim

You may be confusing two products- Atwood markets the Air Command, a unit made by an Australian company that has been long in the market (plus Atwood is now owned by Dometic).The Advent brand name was bought and put on a Chinese built DuoTherm clone.I just installed 2 of the 15k btu Atwood units, and so far they are very nice- low power draw, large capacity, nice thermostat. The 15k btu units are all heat pumps, operating down to ~45 f.

Thanks for pointing that out, I typed Advent when I meant Atwood. I edited it!The manual linked to shows 61 amps (thank you for the link) 61 Amps is beyond the specs of the Honda EU2000i. There seems to be no explanation anywhere on how they have overcome this obstacle. I am sure it could be done and could speculate on how they did it. I would think they would be happy to share how it is done (if they want my money anyway) Jim
