Depends what you like to do. A new one is $500 and that's enough that -- for me -- it's good sport to try to rebuild it.

I have been doing field expedient repairs since I was a teen and it is just a lot of fun to solve problems.

Every time the furnace spins silently to life now I get the satisfaction of having fixed it. That's Recreation to me.
