Atwood Furnace Problem. Help?

Have an Atwood Model 7920-ll in our 2000 Lance 1010. Other day we were in Northern NH and it got a little chilly in the evening. We turned on the furnace before bed and it was blowing nice hot air. Set the thermostat at 64 or so and went to bed. During the night I thought the furnace was running a lot so I got up and it was blowing cool air so I turned it off. In the morning I tried it again and again no hot air will come out.

Furnace turns on, blower comes on, after maybe 30 seconds it sounds like the igniter clicks, but it just blows cool air. Have tried again since getting home, but same scenario.

Any suggestions before getting "fleeced" by someone?! I am a little mechanically informed!

  • Air intake restricted
    Exhaust blocked
Edge connector on circuit board dirty
    Main burner orifice clogged
    Burner Head obstructed
    Electrode faulty
    Gas valve faulty
    Circuit board faulty

    Loose/corroded ground

These are issues that will prevent main flame from lighting off

Power to gas valve only happens for 6-8 seconds when spark electrode gets power

    Check ground wire
Pull the edge connector....clean contacts on circuit board with pencil eraser and try again.
If that doesn't work.check voltage at gas valve during spark. No power/circuit board.
Got power....does gas flow. No/solenoid. Yes/clean burner assembly
  • First step is to make sure you are getting flow out of the LPG tank. Does the stove burner light? You may have a stuck regulator or empty tank.
  • I had a full propane bottle not let any propane out and had your same symptoms. I changed bottle and it worked.
  • I know where my furnace is located and understand the basic operation, but that's about all. Never worked on it.
I almost hate to ask if it has propane. Mine has run out a couple times with that result. If plenty of propane, how about the ignitor? That would be my second check.
