Thanks Old-Biscuit. Just back from the camp site. The model # is G6A8E.
Did all you mentioned except remove and clean the orifice ( forgot that step )..
Did not see anything really bad. There was wear signs of course and the rag got a dirty going back and forth in the burner / exhaust tube. Nearly polished everything else. Put everything back together and adjusted the flame as you suggested. She purred like a kitten and was pretty quite, I like. Closed the door, and and and, yip, within a minute, shut down, fired right backup and then off again. Goes into lock out after 2 burns. Leave the darn door open and she heats to correct temp, shuts down, use hot water and she fires up, comes to temp, shuts off, does all it should IF the door is open.
What has me confused is the fact if you turn it off after the lock out, it comes back right away, no wait. So you would think if there was a problem in that module black box which I'm sure contains electronic parts, and the extra inside heat caused by the closed door, would it not have to cool a little for the part to become good to go again? I can not see a loose connection but this weekend I'm taking a few jumper wires with me and bypassing the thermostat and the ECO.
If it is something inside the black box I'm sure once our weather warms up it'll happen with the door open as well? I'll have to prove that to myself before i go get a replacement.
Should I remember to remove and clean that orifice still ? Thanks much.
