Autoformer storage over the winter.

Hello Everyone,

Will my Hughs autoformer be ok for the winter if left under my trailer.

The trailer is a park model on a concrete foundation. The autoformer is well underneath it and sitting on 3" high concrete brick. The trailer is skirted, closing off the autoformer from rain and/or snow).

The trailer is at a seasonal campground which is now closed (no power to the unit) and won't be open until next spring.

Thanks for your feedback,
Paul
  • Other than critters( bugs, etc) my only concern would be moisture. I left a battery charger outside in an unheated shed a few years ago and it got quite rusty but worked OM.

The autotransformer will be fine, assuming it's safe from flooding and critters and such like hazards. Cold weather won't harm it.
