Awning Arm Bracket Cover

I have a Tiffin Allegro 36LA. It has an electric awning. The bracket/track which attaches it to the side of the motorhome has a plastic cover to protect wire and where the wire goes through the wall. That plastic cover slides into a track. We have lost the cover. It slid down and has fallen off while traveling. We have the replacement cover to slide into the track. To prevent it from vibrating and sliding out again, is there a something (like Loctite) to use that would hold the cover in the track?

p.s. The track is painted aluminum and the cover that slides in is plastic.

  • Thanks for the replies. Sorry to have taken so much time to get back here. Been a tad busy.

Think I will go with Doug's suggestion of some small dabs of clear silicone.
  • I use silicone sealant to hold them on. Just a dab on each side is all it takes. Doug
  • Think I would put down a short strip of seal/caulk after it's in place.
Easier to remove later if necessary.
  • Depends on how often/easy you want to take it off. Locktite would work, they make several different strength levels, up to needing a torch to melt the seals off. Depending on the configuration, maybe a couple of screws to hold it in place or blocking the slide track? If you don't want it to ever come off, run a bead of seal the whole length of the track, then slide in the cover. Secure with tape until dry.
