Awning Arm Cover Cracked

We have a 2015 Spree Connect and when towing in our neighborhood I hit a tree branch and cracked the top cover of the awning arm. Has anyone ever done this? Is it an easy fix? Expensive? Should I file through insurance? Or is it something we can fix ourselves? Thanks for any and all answers
  • I'm in the middle of a more severe awning repair. I hit a tree, smushed the tube and broke a spring. Couple of thoughts - replacement parts are plentiful (check eBay), YouTube videos are there too to help you do the work.

Be wary of the tension in those awning springs.
And final thought, whole replacement awnings are available for a third of what the dealer will charge!

    Good luck.
  • Not sure I understand what was damaged but I cannot imagine reporting it to insurance. Depending on your deductible the cost is likely less so you will pay for it anyway and still may have an accident on your "record".
