Awning Rebuild - New fabric

Question

First RV I have had with an awning. Unrolled it and the fabric delaminated then fell apart. Frame and internals seem good. Would like to put new fabric in. Saw a video about doing it on the same Dometic model as mine. Looks kinda of hard. Has anyone else replaced the fabric on their awining? Any comments/suggestions?

Just replaced the material on my brothers camper (manual A&E awning) with new.

Took about 3 hours total. We used the method online (you tube) that includes drilling out the metal end cap and making a slot notch. We didn't have to deal with the spring or anything - just cut off the old and slide in the new.

Work well and looks good.
