Axle Shackle Question

In the course of doing some other work on my 5th Wheel, I ended up taking a look at my middle spring shackles. The triangle piece that connects the front of the back spring with the back of the front spring appears to be suspended inside the metal shackle housing that is attached to the frame. This rubber blocking that provides the suspension appears torn, and I believe the triangle equalizer piece is just riding up against the frame. Axles are Lippert 7k. I can't find this piece on Lippert's website (unless I am not recognizing it). Perhaps it is not a Lippert part? Any advice on if I am correct about what is happening? Pointers to a diagram? Lead on replacement parts?

The bolt edge at top seems to align with the curve at the end of the shackle.
Bottom bolt seems to be low in the shackle like the bolt hole has elongated due to wear. Could be the angle of view.

As a followup to this now old post - smkettner hit it right on. I bought the Moryde pucks and went to install them to find all of my hardware was worn/elongated. One order of Moryde's heavy duty bolt and shackle kit upgrade later, and everything is as it should be.

Already noticing a large improvement in stability when walking around in trailer. Seems just a little more stable/tracks truer when pulling, but that one could be my imagination.

    Thanks for the advice.

  • Thanks guys. It is definitely the MORyde system. I will get ahold of them and will check rubber cracks for width and depth per their website. smkettner - what looks worn to you about shackles? I may be disassmbling anyhow, so I could do an inspection/replacement then...
  • Those shackles look like they might be a bit worn.
Could be a bad angle but I think it is time to disassemble and inspect.
  • MORryde is the brand (574) 293-1581 is their phone number. They will ask for a number molded into the rubber. I needed to remove one to provide it. A small amount of tearing/cracking is expected. 6 or 7 years is about all I'd expect from them as they are rubber.
  • It is. Morride rubber suspension they are aloved som tearing as per ther specs, not shure about the spelling of name.
