The OP backed BFG into the liability corner with that type question. He will get the same answer from any LT or P tire maker by asking for a direct replacement for a ST tire.
Amxpress also has recommended Maxxis ST tires in every one of his replies on the tire subject.
We saw the same type email question to Michelin when a member asked about the XPS Rib tire. Hell Michelin recommends the XPS for commercial trailer service. Michelin says the XPS wasn't a replacement for the ST tire. We do however have several other emails from Michelin recommending the ribs to other RV.net members who didn't back them into a corner.
My email to BFG rep was worded this way. I simply asked which tire in their LT line up do they recommend for a tri axle trailer with 5200 or 6k axles. The reply came from Michelin rep that recommended the BFG Commercials LT E at 3042 lbs capacity.
If your really interested in using LT tires don't back the tire makers or their dealers into the liability corner.
A "experienced" tire dealer can explain the liability issues to his customers on tire replacement process or the tire selection process.
