Bathroom Vent Condensation.

Yesterday, while in the Bathroom of my 5th Wheel, a Drop of Water fell on my right Forearm. I investigated and I noticed a fair amount of Condensation on the Vent. I also saw where the Water had been falling off of the Vent onto the Floor. Is a Dehumidifier in order? If so, what Brand is recommended?

  • We live in a very damp, rainy climate. Folks here cannot leave the roof vents open at night. Before I installed my roof vent covers, I would wake up every morning to condensation everywhere: windows and walls. My first morning chore was to wipe down all these surfaces.

I bought at Campers World and installed myself the covers. We leave the roof vents open year round now, even in driving rainstorms. No more condensation inside the trailer. Roof vent covers are the ticket. Take it from a guy from the rainy N.W.
  • With the temps we have been having, you might have had some ice around your vent which is melting. With the vent closed, inside humidity may have formed due to cold temps outside. Ours is usually the opposite way, but I cna see it possible. Do you have a cover over the vent like a MaxxAire?

Where are you now? I have seen condensation on our vents in high humidity situations, but not around here in Tennessee now.
Right now we are camped in Hurricane Mills, TN.
  • In our case, it was when we were running the AC, and warm outside air was condensing on the rif of the vent.

  • I don't know if you are camping or in storage. If you are camping I assume you have an exhaust fan of some type you can run. But I am thinking you are in storage. I would put a max air vent on all my roof vents and leave them open. You can also place a tub of Damp Rid and that will really help too. That would give you natural air circulation and something to help absorb the moisture in the air.

Can you just leave it cracked open a little bit? That might let the humidity escape.
