Battery Box planning wisdom needed (kinda long)

I got into a discussion recently that got me thinking about a few things and I want some group thoughts. In my TT (in sig below) I have a full pass-through compartment, then a compartment for 2 LP ...

I don't know the lay out of your TT so this may or may not be a concern.

Four batteries will be a considerable weight, maybe 240#. If this is too far to the rear it could reduce your tongue weight to the point of making it unstable.

My first TT had the battery inside, in a vented enclosure. Seemed to be fine.
