Bare with me on this. I just spent 2wks boondocking with my two Crown 325ahr 6v GC batteries. Every 4th day I ran the eu3000 4hrs to recharge up from 12.3V. Would I be better off connecting a battery charger to the gene and hooking direct to the batteries?
Researches ask 3 groups of men "Brief's or Boxers"
Young men replied Briefs
Medium aged said "Boxers"
Seniors said "Depends".
And the answer to your question is "Depends" on the converter in the RV.
Magnetek 6300.... Please upgrade it
Most decent parallex 7300 consider an upgrade but this one is much better than the last
Progressive Dynamics Intella power 9200.. There is no upgrade.
(Provided it has the optional dongle).
Or the 9100 with optional wizard
Or any of the other charge wizard controlled models. (With wizard or dongle depending on model).
You said 325 amp-hour (Strange size by my standard, though I do know they make them about that size) so you need around 90-100 amps of converter to charge them quickly bigger than that may damage them smaller takes longer to charge. A full charge should take around six hours with the proper size converter and the proper size wires. NOTE that that converter will require some very good size wires.
Just thinking. My prosine 2.0 Inverter is also a top of the chart 3-stage converter when it is in charger mode.. Again, there is no upgrade. Too bad its no longer made.. But they make others as good, oh, and it is a 100 amp converter though I've never seen it break 90 but once.
