Battery Charger?

Harbor Freight’s maintainer works well for me.

I recommend getting 5 to 10 amps so that you can use it for actual recharging and possibly had it as a back up charging system in the RV.

Otherwise a 1 to 2 amp automatic is ok maintaining a charged battery.

Don't store them on a cement or similar floor. If you are putting them in a garage, basement, etc. set them on blocks of wood. Something to do with drain. Maybe an old wive's tale :)

It may be an old wive's tale or, a leftover from the early days of car batteries. Storing Batteries on Concrete.

First, clean them. Baking soda and water and a good rinse. Second, make sure the water is up to the proper level. Even "maintenance free" battery caps can be carefully removed.

Outside is fine, even in freezing weather. It is not necessary, nor do I recommend it, to keep them on a charger 24/7. Once every week or two bring them up to 100% SOC and they will be fine.

The only time I had a battery freeze on me was when a cheap Harbor Freight maintainer shorted and the battery went dead.

Make sure that water levels are topped off. Fully charge batteries completely then disconnect the negative cable to make sure there is no possibility of current drain. Assuming that your batteries are in good shape they will be okay until spring.

When I was growing up, my best friends father sold various lines of equipment for mechanics. He sold a product you squeezed into the battery cells to de-sulfate that. Didn't make the batteries new, but gave them some more life.

AGM batteries do not seem to deplete too much while sitting idle. I bought a 10w solar automatic 'Battery Tender' and leave it hooked up. It has a built in controller.
It works well mounted on my snowmobile trailer keeping my AGM sled batteries topped off while parked off grid. I have used it passing the cable thru my basement window to charge them at home as well. There are many brands of this setup on the market at varying prices.
