Battery draining fast and converter running hard

You are absolutely correct that the battery monitor that came with the trailer is a piece of garbage.

That's the reason I installed a Bogart Engineering Tri-Metric 2030RV digital battery monitor in the trailer and that is top of the line and extremely precise.
