A Failed fuse is one of two things.
1. SHORT
2. EXCESS current draw
The refer would have NEVER caused this problem--NEVER.
Are you POSITIVE (I don't trust the dealer as they stated the refer caused the problem), that the Battery wiring IS correct and on the correct posts? Doug
