Cold is a battery killer, and no, they would not have regrouped when it warmed up. Batteries that are 3 years or more older also have less capacity. This cold period may have been showing you that it is time to get new batteries.
Get this; My trailer is a 2013 that I picked up in August, 2012. AND I had my factory battery stolen when I stopped for the night at at truck stop running my gennies! So, my oldest battery is only a bit over two years old. And the other one is only over one.
But I believe you about cold killing batteries. I just experienced it.
What to do about it is the question now.
