"Something that shoves the amps in there, in a short amount of time, to 90% charge or a bit more in 2 hours or slightly less."
When drycamping, our little Honda EX650 can be run at hardly a sound (low frequency and at around 54dB) for about 5 hours when charging our RV batteries at about 15 amps. That's gives close enough to "full" for us. If more is needed during those five hours, the first 45 minutes of those 5 hours can be with the main engine idling with it's alternator and the main engine idling creates a far lower sound level than even 54dB. During this 5 hours, we can also watch TV, run the computers, etc.
The above scenario is why we have never needed to buy another higher voltage charger for our camping. Of course our battery type is AGM which charges faster at all voltages and our drycamping is not in campgrounds with other campers around, so 5 hours of very quiet generator running time is not an issue (...even with other campers around, we have found).
At low temps we would have to refill the little generator and maybe run all day long up to 10 hours, or idle the main engine longer.
