I need to find these campgrounds with $10 and hookups... Are there any of these in Montana, Idaho, Utah, CO, NM, WY, NV, AZ ,OR or WA?
Me too, but with one twist .... no other campers around, either, so you feel like you're out in the middle of nowhere but with hookups. ;)
There's a CA lake we camp at occasionally. It's a commercially operated campground that is kindof spread all over the hills around the lake (the whole lake is privately owned and operated). Each campsite is maybe a 100 feet or more from those adjoining and each campsite has a 120V AC box and hose bib often concealed in a clump of grass somewhere near the campsite. Since the campground terrain is hilly, you often can't even see the other campers that might technically be in the "next campsite over".
This campground feels like you're "boondocking", but with power and water provided! We've never found any other camping setup quite like this one. If you have happen to a campsite right on the lake, you can even leave your boat anchored on the shore right at your site.
