How about that special level? The one where money is near meaningless and the only pertinent idea is found in the answer...
"I have people who do that for me"
Or the survivalist who has a ball with a candle, hatchet, string, and tarp?
Bridle and bit, blanket, saddle, grub, bedroll, 30-30, sack of coarse coffee, and the dawg. Want noise? Harmonica. Ride off into the sunset. no steenking******to break, wear out, not work, or ponder over.
The thing is, one way is NOT BETTER than the other. The ways are DIFFERENT and each suits the individual satisfied with their choice.
I try to keep this in mind when offering examples about battery care and maintenance. A hundred gallons of gasoline and 79 mile round trip buying it may not bother some folks. Others HATE the thought of running a generator. Others may be forced to camp frugally whether they like it or not. A 50-amp slide-out-city monster, boondocking, with gizmos twirling, lights flaring, wall size televisions flickering is a lot different than a simple camper, dark inside with the folks sitting outside around a blazing campfire.
Trying to convince someone your way of RV'ing is "better" is fruitless, and pointless. There are as man different ways to RV as there are occupants inside them.
Answers should be custom tailored for the particular type of RV'ing (especially boondocking) a person wishes to do. They establish the rules. The objectives.
"I want to do this and I want to do that". They have a choice of running a generator all day, or not. That and solar panels allows a choice, and none are better than the other. The issue is and was and will remain "Is it adequate?"
