The Trimetric doesn't do much more than the vanilla amp-hour counter that you had before. The Trimetric does what it does less well than the Victron, and at a greater cost in dollars than the Victron, and uses up more space than the Victron.
The only possible reason to use the Trimetric is if you intended to add on solar and wanted to use the "add on" Trimetric solar charge controller. However, there are far better solar controllers for a lower price than the Trimetric one.
I'm not trying to rain on your parade--but I don't understand why you would wish to pay more both in space and cost for a some what inferior product.
