Battery monitoring (Trimetric type vs Panel mount type)

Please help me in understanding the pros and cons and maybe more importantly the differences between these types of units. I can get panel mount volt meters that will also measure amp draw but base...

Why oh why oh why don't they include a 30 minute delay hysteresis in some of these alarms? A half-hour won't kill a battery. Use FUSES to prevent incidental overload.

Some of these designers are unemployed flashlight battery powered toy rejects?
