Hubs will heat up following braking. After repacking bearings, I will leave the hub covers off on the first trip so I can shoot temps. directly on the area between the bearings rather than the hubs. I will shoot hub temps. where the brakes engage when stopping to see if they are consistent. It must been done quickly because the temps. will drop quickly after stopping.
