I am going to make a statement here and it's going to rile more than a few people. TOUGH. It's fact. Yeah I even did it down here in Mexico. 2 days in Mexico City.
Take a couple of days and tour your state capitol. No, not the streets silly, PARK get out and walk. Note the level of affluence of motor vehicles parked in government employee parking lots. You'll need to be in good shape, the lots are vast. How many Hummers, Escalades, Navigators, and Range Rovers, do you see?
Next, go into visitors centers. Use your eyeballs and what exists between your ears. Do the employees appear to have anywhere NEAR the pressure on them that employees do in your business? How is the lighting and the furniture? Pretty pricey huh?
Who are these people REALLY working for?
As you fume your way back to your car, looked at the manicured landscape, the flawless pavement and brand new striping.
Settle down. Your next objective is to witness the looooooooooooooong lunch. Hope you brought a sandwich. You ain't done. As shadows lengthen and they all go back to "work" go into one of their haunts and see how much their pitiful lunch costs.
Try not to rationalize driving into a tree on the way home.
Your gas tax and all other state taxes help support this life style.

And relax! What you saw is a drop in the bucket as compared to ten million dollar junkets to Africa, leasing a private jet for a thousand times what an airline ticket costs, and five hundred dollar presidential haircuts. Ever wonder what our legislators get for Health Care?
