Of course there are more failed WFCOs, because WFCO is installed in more RVs. This is not Randy's fault.
For suppying 13.6 volts WFCO is pretty good IMO. When we all started demanding the boost mode actually work as expected, that is when the problems started. As a general use Magnetek replacement WFCO seems OK. I am not sure Randy or many others understood the WFCO boost issue until the users on this forum demanded to know how and why the boost did not work as expected.
I tried the much ballyhooed Xantrex XADC and it was not exactly perfect either. It now sits under my workbench in my garage.
My smaller 35a WFCO has worked as expected. But now it sits in the trailer unpowered since installing the solar.
I think the biggest problem with WFCO was for $10 more you can have 55a instead of 35a but the manufacturers installed wiring and a small battery for a 35 amp. This is not Randy's fault.
I don't really recommend WFCO unless OEM look and fitment is desired. Although now it looks like powermax has a bolt in replacement so I would probably go with powermax for that purpose.
Good luck to the OP :R
